LEARNING OBJECTIVE:
The purpose of this article is to describe the oxygen cost of playing sports and games and to interpret if they have potential for meeting ACSM guidelines for aerobic fitness in terms of intensity of exercise. Second, other values of playing sports and games will be addressed including performance of activities of daily living, reduction in falls, psychoemotional effects, and exercise adherence.
