Office of Minority Health and Health Disparities (OMHD), Office of the Associate Director for Program, Office of the Director

OMHD is seeking interested candidates&nbs p;for 120-day detail opportunities for the positions below. OMHD's mission and goal are based on this philosophy: for minority health and health disparity initiatives to be effective, they must be operational in the centers, institutes, offices, and programs at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry (ATSDR). These initiatives, where appropriate, must be transferred to state and local government and nongovernment agencies and organizations. This office, therefore, assumes an operational versus a programmatic management approach in achieving its mission. Such a management approach demands ongoing interaction and communication between CDC; ATSDR; the Public Health Service; other Federal officials; state and local government officials; and the leadership of nongovernmental agencies and organizations, including voluntary agencies, community-based organizations, philanthropic groups, and others.
