The North Carolina State University Department of Social Work invites applications for a Teaching Assistant Professor position beginning August 16, 2010. The successful candidate will be expected to teach courses on generalist practice and advanced practice with individuals, families, and groups. Primarily teaching appointment will be in the MSW Program. The faculty member will engage in teaching, scholarship, field liaison, student advisement, university, and community service. The candidate must have a strong commitment to diversity/inclusion, social justice, and student-centered social work education.

Minimum Qualifications: A doctorate in social work or a related discipline completed as of the date of appointment; a MSW from a CSWE accredited program with 2 years of post-MSW direct practice experience; demonstrated ability to teach social work ; excellent written and oral communication skills; and the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications: A PhD in Social Work or DSW, a record of scholarship, including a history of, or potential for publication in professional journals and direct practice teaching experience at the graduate-level.
