Now Open: Invited Sessions Call for Proposals for the 2010 APM!
The 2010 APM invited sessions call for proposals opens TODAY, January 11, 2010, and includes the following five formats: Arts Festival, Hot Topic, Meet the Authors, Partnership, and Series. The call closes 7 weeks later at 11:59 pm on Sunday, February 28.
The following five invited sessions will be scheduled to occur during the 3 full days of the APM on October 15–17, 2010.
Arts Festival
This ongoing festival is a fun way to share information about interpreting the arts within their dissemination of social work education. Proposals are strongly encouraged for art performances involving storytelling, poetry readings, dances, and the use of music. Submitters are also welcome to include painting, sculpture, pottery, beads, and photograph displays in their Arts Festival proposals.
Hot Topics
These presentations are on emerging and important topics for social work educators or on topics not covered by other APM presentations. These sessions are selected or invited by the Council on Conferences and Faculty Development (CCFD). All special presentations are held in oral session rooms and are 90 minutes in length.
Meet the Authors
Meet the Authors will be a feature of the 2010 APM, and will be coordinated by Lynn Tobola, Librarian, University of Alabama School of Social Work. Authors or editors whose first edition books or edited books (not journal articles or chapters in books edited by others) were published between April 1, 2009–February 28, 2010 are invited to participate in these sessions. Subsequent editions with substantial revisions will be considered.
Partnership Presentations
Partnership presentations provide opportunities for social work education-related groups to report and promote their activities to those attending the 2010 APM. Due to meeting space availability, each group will be limited to one accepted presentation. The leadership of each organization may select and invite the presenters. The CCFD invites these organized groups to submit proposals under this special category of presentations. Each session is 90 minutes and is held during the regular session hours.
Series Sessions
Series sessions focus on the work of each of CSWE’s Commissions and Councils. These 90-minute sessions present issues of interest and showcase projects of these CSWE leadership groups.
