This is the third annual conference focusing on aspects of community engagement. This year’s conference will emphasize the scientific rigor of community engagement by discussing methods, models and outcomes that demonstrate measurable health improvements. Participants will have an opportunity to refine and develop research tools to further community engagement practices. Discussions will also include ways to transform the clinical research enterprise through effective collaborations that lead to improved health outcomes.

This conference will:

* Explore methods for community engagement within the context of clinical and translational research.
* Continue the evolving discourse clarifying the scientific basis for community and practice engagement.
* Provide a forum for discussion of experiences and ideas concerning education and support of community partners working with researchers at academic institutions.
* Provide a networking opportunity across translational and clinical disciplines including new and established CTSA awardees and their respective community partners.
* Identify national and regional resources to support effective localized community engagement research efforts.
