Peer Support & Networking

One of ESIN’s key goals is to facilitate peer-to-peer relationships and networks that enable its members to share their ideas, experiences, and resources with one another.  This is achieved by providing opportunities for ESIN members to interact on a personal, direct basis and on-line through a virtual community.

Because many of its members are located across the country, ESIN has devised several on-line tools and resources that can be accessed from anywhere to facilitate peer support.  On ESIN’s Virtual Campus, members can:

  • Discuss significant personal issues like balancing home and work life, navigating the stresses of earning tenure, and managing colleague relationships in the Scholars Only Lounge;

  • Find other mentors and scholars and view their profiles in the Member Directory;

  • Create a Member Lounge, a network of other scholars and mentors with whom they share a common set of interests and ideas.

ESIN also brings its members together via:

  • Research Study Groups, interdisciplinary research teams that members organize around common research questions and topic;

  • National Conference Meetings, where ESIN members meet and interact in person while attending a national conference or professional association meeting; and

  • ESIN Member Network Meetings, meetings open only to ESIN Scholars, Mentors, Affiliates, and Partners.

Excellent Scholarship is a Prerequisite for Social Change
