Programs

ESIN is the largest peer-based, multi-ethnic, interdisciplinary, professional network of its kind dedicated to both the diversification of the scientific workforce and advancing interdisciplinary research in the fields of social, behavioral, and health disparities.   ESIN relies upon a series of research- and career-based programs and services that are delivered on-line, in virtual space and on a face-to-face basis.  Our on-line approach consists of a Virtual Campus that ESIN members can access through the Internet.

ESIN’s series of programs and services includes:

  • Statistical & Methodological Training, practical, hands-on, data-driven training in advanced statistical analysis and methodological design aimed at enhancing an ESIN member’s technical and theoretical mastery of these skills.
  • Peer Support & Networking: Efforts that foster the establishment of enriching networks, relationships, and collaborations among ESIN investigators, enabling them to connect with one another across differing institutions and organizations as well as geographic boundaries.
  • Research Resources & Project Development:  Research-based tools and resources that facilitate the sharing and exchange of intellectual resources among ESIN members as well as the development of new projects and studies.
  • Career Development:   Professional development-related programs and tools aimed at fostering greater independence, career success, and financial backing of junior investigators.
  • Mentoring Opportunities: Research- and career-based programs and opportunities that advance interdisciplinary research and foster positive career guidance between young investigators and mid- or senior- career scientists.

Excellent Scholarship is a Prerequisite for Social Change
